Zerone by Aleksi Salo (Post-rock, )

Zerone is a deeply introspective sonic journey tracing the emotional arc of the Nordic winter season — from autumnal melancholy to the frostbitten edge of spring. Blending post-rock's sweeping instrumental textures with poetic lyricism, orchestral undertones, and folk-inspired storytelling, the album becomes a meditative reflection on solitude, resilience, and resistance to change.

It moves from the quiet awe of autumn’s descent into winter, through a defiant surge of energy, then collapses into surreal, folkloric fragments. As darkness deepens, sound becomes elemental and meditative, echoing the stillness of Kaamos (polar night). The emerging light of spring brings not peace but disruption, ending in a fierce rejection of renewal — choosing ice over thaw, silence over rebirth.
